Just Can't Get Enough Bikinis!!!

For optimal viewing gratification please enjoy this video while perusing my post.

It's getting hotter, it's a burning love,
and I just can't seem to get enough of....
BIKINIS!!!!

It's the summer of two pieces and I've become a bit obsessed with buying bikinis. If you want to check out my first bikini post you can find it here.
I haven't worn a two piece since I was a young child so I figure I should make up for lost time.

TopASOS Curve
Size US24
I wear a size 44G bra for reference. I love this top and it fits great! The only thing I dislike is the stitching on the front of the cups, it puckers out a bit giving the illusion of happy boobies. HA! HA!

 Bottom: Swimsuits For All
Size 24
I'm a size 26/28 bottom and these fit, but are tight. I wish I could have sized up, but size 24 is as large as they make.

Scarf: ASOS
I purchased this last fall and it is unfortunately no longer available. ASOS is the best for accessories and they always have unique scarfs, so keep an eye out!

HateBay
This is a great hat for $5 shipped!!! I have worn this hat a ton this summer. My only problem with the hat is it was mailed folded and I have not been able to get the folds out completely. I have tried steaming it and putting books on the brim but it was a no go :( If anyone has suggestions for how I might be able to remove the creases I would love to hear them.

SunglassesDomino Dollhouse
These glasses are so freaking hot and I always get tons of compliments on them.  I feel like the love child of Catherine Deneuve and David Bowie when I wear them.

I love me some Siouxsie and the Banshees!

Be a super creep and take some extra peeps at Fatshion Peepshow in the upcoming week. I have a very special blog post planned. One like nothing I have ever done before. EEEEPPPPP!
I'm totes stoked!!!

Hell Bunny Vampiress Mini Dress in Plus Size

For optimal viewing gratification please enjoy this video while perusing my post.

THEY'RE HERE!!! The Hell Bunny Plus Size Mini Dress has arrived!!!! I have been waiting a couple of years for a shorter, plus size dress from Hell Bunny. I love the retro-vintage glam of their longer styles but sometimes a girl just wants to flaunt it short and sassy like! I've purchased three mini dresses from Hell Bunny's new 2014 Autumn/Winter collection and I hope to pick up some more. I peeped a beautiful mini dress from Spin Doctor earlier this week that I must have as well! In case you didn't know, Spin Doctor is Hell Bunny's sister company; the Spin Doctor line is a little more goth/steampunk than Hell Bunny is. I have a few of their dresses that I love so it is nice to see they are also carrying plus size mini dresses.

The Hell Bunny mini dress I'm wearing in this post is called the Vampiress. This dress is avilable in sizes XS-4X and it also comes in a red and green version as well as a longer, more 50's style version with half sleeves. The selections leave you a lot of fun, vampy options. I chose to go with the red version because I figured it would look better with my hair but I would like to note the green version is pretty dang amazing as well and it was hard to decide which one to purchase. I am really happy with the length of this mini dress, I'm 5'6" and it almost goes to my knees. I don't feel like it is so short that I would show my bum if I'm just wearing nylons. If you are much taller than me you might want to wear this dress with leggings or shorts underneath. I think it would look perfectly fine either way and I'm sure I will rock it with leggings from time to time as well. I really love the cut of this dress, the bust is wicked and incredibly flattering on my chest. I think it adds the perfect amount of sexiness without letting everything hang out. I have a 53" bust and wear a size 44G so sometimes a bust like this can be a bit tricky. You don't want to be spilling out for the world to see, but still want to show a touch of sass. The details on this dress are totally swell and spooky; the dress has batwing pockets and a pointy adjustable halter strap. I wore the strap on the tightest setting and did not find it rubbed or bothered my neck at all. The batwing pockets add a bit of flair and are nice and deep which allows me to comfortably carry stuff in them.

I did find this dress to have less stretch than some of the other Hell Bunny dresses I own. There is very little stretch to the colored panel through the middle of the dress in the waist area. I am wearing a 4X in this dress and would not be able to size down to a 3X like I can with some of their other dresses. Just keep in mind when ordering there will not be much give to the fabric. If you would like my measurements for comparison just leave me a comment and I would be happy to share.

I look forward to wearing this dress out in the fall and jazzing it up to have more of a spooky style. I think this dress leaves a lot of potential to put together an awesome, sexy, vampy look for Halloween.

I purchased my Hell Bunny Vampiress dress from Sweet Echo Plus. Sweet Echo currently has other plus size mini styles in stock so totally check them out. Use code "Summer14" to get 10% off your order!!!!

Batty for Younique Moonstruck 3D Fiber Lashes Mascara

I have been wanting to do a post about makeup for a long time. I'm addicted to make-up; I love it almost as much as I love dresses and horror movies. I'm always on the hunt for new products and subscribe to monthly makeup subscription boxes to deliver my fix. I have tried so many mascaras over the years but I became most comfortable with They're Real! by Benefit. Although I've been happy with They're Real!, I wanted to try a 3D fiber mascara but Benefit does not carry one.

While on Facebook I noticed many friends in my makeup group were buying Moonstruck 3D Fiber Lashes Mascara from a friend and fellow group member. I decided to check out her Facebook group Louise's Lashes and order some to try out myself.

The mascara came in this awesome hard case, it's perfect for just throwing in my purse for makeup on the run. It also came with a pamphlet inside listing instructions on how to use the product. I decided the best way  to show my readers the product was to take step-by-step photos.

My naked lashes.

I have very short and stubby lashes.; they need all the help they can get from mascara.

Just a little NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk.

This will help the product pop when I apply it to my lids and lashes.

My left eye with a black liquid liner and my right eye with just the white pencil.

I wanted to show how the 3D mascara looked with and without liquid liner. When I go out I always line my upper lid in black liquid eyeliner. On more casual days I only apply mascara.

Application of the first coat of 3D mascara on my left eye.

The instructions suggested using a base coat of my regular mascara for bigger, bolder lashes. I wanted to show you the finished result of just this product so no base coat was used.

Application of the second coat of 3D mascara on the left eye.

This product was fairly easy to apply. You apply a good layer of gel, apply the fibers while the gel is still wet, and then seal with more gel. You can do as many coats as you like but always follow the pattern GEL, FIBERS, GEL.

Application of the first and second coat on my right eye.

I noticed if you pull the fiber wand out of the container and the fibers are loose you can gently roll the wand on the top of your clean hand to compress them back in. I think with a base layer of my regular mascara, and some practice, I could get really big, amazing lashes with this product for a more dramatic look.

A shot of me looking up so you can see just how long my lashes really are. I would say they are as long as any of the falsies I have worn.

After shots of my make-up fully complete

I'm really happy with the results I got from this mascara. I think it will take some playing around with to come up with the perfect lash, but I love makeup adventures and I'm up for the challenge. I'm curious how it may work on bottom lashes.

Some additional information about Younique and Moonstruck 3D Fiber Lashes Mascara

  • Younique is a naturally-based product line which means the products contain natural ingredients as well as important non-natural ingredients necessary to keep the product safe (for example, ingredients to control bacterial overgrowth).
  • The entire line is also cruelty-free and much of it is Vegan (although not the mascara as it contains beeswax). The company has a full disclosure of their ingredients list which is important. They list every ingredient and why it is in there.
  • Moonstruck 3D fiber lashes mascara is sweat proof and water-resistant... not waterproof but it will hold up to a good cry or this awful heat.

If you're interested in purchasing Younique's 3D Moonstruck Fiber Mascara you can order it from Louise HERE.

As a bonus for ordering the Moonstruck Mascara, Louise is giving away three FREE pigment samples with every order! The samples are HUGE, almost half the size of the regular size tub. All you have to do to get your samples is make sure to leave a contact email when you place your order so Louise can follow up to get your choices.

These are the beautiful colors you get to pick from...

Baring It All; My First Swimsuits for All Bikini

For optimal viewing gratification please click and enjoy this video while perusing my post.

"I love myself today
Not like yesterday
I'm cool, I'm calm
I'm gonna be okay! Uh huh"- Biff Naked

Leaping lizards I just posted ten photos of myself in a bikini on the internet!!!

There's no way I could have done this post a year ago. I'm learning to love my body more and more everyday. One of the reasons I have never ever worn a bikini is because of my legs. I've always only worn swim skirts. Silly right? You can see my legs in a skirt so what's the deal with not wearing a bikini. Who knows? I have no clue! It's really lame I even thought that way. So no more worrying about my legs being fat and less than perfect. I look hella hot in my suit even with big legs. It really doesn't matter if anyone else thinks so.
This month's Ahead of the Curve blog theme is "Bare for Summer" or "Being Seen;" the perfect opportunity for me to share my first suit with you.
With my new found bikini-wearing attitude I purchased this Polka Dot High Waist Bikini from Swimsuits for All.
I also picked up a Polka Dot Underwire Bra Top from ASOS to wear under the S4A top because I have a larger chest, wearing a size 44G bra, so I wanted the extra support in the top and layering the two suits was the best way for me to achieve this. My S4A suit only runs up to size 24; I wear a size 24 top and a 26/28 bottom but I ordered it anyway to take a chance. The bottom does fit, but it is very tight, I would like to have been able to size up one size for a better fit. I noticed the bikinis on the S4A site seem to stop at size 24, I hope this changes in the future because I see more and more women larger than a size 24 rocking two pieces. If you're going to call yourself "Swimsuits for All" you should have bikini options available in the full size range you advertise. Just my two cents. I'm very happy with my suit even though the bottom is a tiny bit too tight. The quality is nice and the price was right; S4A always has coupon codes floating around and wonderful sales so you should be able to pick up a suit at a steal if you keep your eyes peeled for these codes and sales.
The ASOS top I picked was the wrong size when it arrived, I ordered a 42F and they sent a 38F. It's clearly to small for me to wear on it's own but it works under this top and I could not be bothered sending it back since the return process is a bit tougher in Canada. It's still a nice top despite being too small, I may re-order my correct size and just sell this one.
I wanted to snazzy-up my suit so I added a black fishnet crop top I had kicking around in my underwear drawer. HA! Old school Torrid at its finest. This baby is 10+ years old so you won't find it now. You can even see I pushed thumb holes into the sleeves to kick it goth style.
I added a touch more retro flair by adding Hey! heeled jelly shoes from ASOS and a
Skull Towel from Sourpuss. My towel is no longer in stock, but the link points you to another gnarly design.

I feel my bikini bum look is practical and also very true to my alternative style. I'm overjoyed I found the confidence this summer to wear a two piece. Insecurities are a bitch!! I totally can't wait to rock my other suits for you in an upcoming blog!!
